Diagnose the Missing Step in a Manta Pacific Bridge

Diagnose a stuck Manta Pacific bridge by tracing the transfer from its source transaction to the destination record, then act on the first missing step. A wallet’s “pending” label is not enough to tell whether the transaction is waiting for inclusion, failed, or completed on one chain but not the other. Start with the transaction hash and check the correct network’s explorer. The Manta Pacific network information points to its explorer and lists chain ID 169.

The route matters because a native deposit from Ethereum and a native withdrawal back to Ethereum do not complete in the same way. The linked note on what the Manta bridge changes on arrival covers the transfer’s effect on the funds; here, the task is to locate the transition that has not happened. Third-party routes can have different contracts and status steps, so trace one transfer only through the route that initiated it.

How do I tell whether the source transaction succeeded?

The source-chain receipt is the first checkpoint: it shows whether the bridge call was included and whether contract execution succeeded. Find the hash in your wallet’s activity, open it on the source network’s explorer, and check both its status and the transaction details. A wallet interface can keep showing an old pending label after the chain has already recorded the result.

If the transaction is still pending, it has not yet committed the bridge request. Check whether the account submitted a later transaction with the same nonce; a replacement transaction can supersede the original hash. Follow the replacement hash if there is one. Sending another bridge request does not advance the pending request and may create a separate transfer.

If the explorer reports a revert or failure, the call did not complete. Read the revert reason if the explorer provides one, and check whether the attempted action was a token approval or the bridge deposit itself. An ERC-20 approval grants permission to spend a token; it does not deposit that token. A reverted transaction may still consume gas, but it is not evidence that the bridge accepted the asset.

Why is my deposit confirmed but missing on Manta Pacific?

A successful Ethereum deposit is the source-side event, not proof that the destination credit is visible in your wallet. First confirm that the bridge interface selected Ethereum as the source and Manta Pacific as the destination. Then check the destination address and token on Manta Pacific’s explorer. A balance display alone can mislead if the wallet is on another network, connected to another account, or not showing the token representation.

Use the bridge history or transfer details to match the source hash to the destination record. Check that the recipient address, asset, and amount correspond to the transaction you sent. If the source transaction succeeded but there is no matching destination record, keep the hash and route details: the unresolved point is after source execution, so another deposit is not a repair. Refreshing a wallet or switching its selected network can fix a display mismatch, but neither action changes on-chain state.

For an ERC-20 deposit, distinguish an approval from the deposit call in the transaction list. If the approval succeeded but no later deposit transaction exists, the bridge request may never have been submitted. If both transactions exist, inspect the deposit receipt and then look for the corresponding destination event or balance. These checks separate an incomplete wallet flow from a message or destination-processing delay.

What does a pending Manta Pacific withdrawal mean?

A native withdrawal is a staged exit: initiation on Manta Pacific records the request, and later Ethereum-side steps complete the release. Therefore, a successful Pacific transaction does not mean the funds have arrived on Ethereum. Check the withdrawal’s status in the bridge history and identify the next action shown there, such as waiting for the request to become provable, proving it, waiting through the protocol’s exit period, or finalizing it.

Each stage has its own transaction evidence. Verify the initiation on Manta Pacific. If the interface says a proof or finalization action is ready, check whether that Ethereum transaction was submitted and succeeded. A submitted transaction can remain pending because of Ethereum inclusion or fee conditions; a successful transaction should have a receipt. If an action still needs a wallet signature, the bridge request may be valid while the exit remains unfinished.

Keep enough ETH on Ethereum for any required Ethereum transaction, and enough ETH on Manta Pacific for actions there. If the wallet rejects a transaction for insufficient gas, the preceding withdrawal request can remain in place; fund the relevant account on the relevant network, then return to the same withdrawal record. Do not infer that an exit has failed solely because its waiting period is longer than a deposit’s.

What should I collect before asking for help?

Record the route, direction, source and destination networks, transaction hash, recipient address, asset, and the last confirmed step. Include the exact status or error text from the bridge interface and explorer. That gives support enough information to distinguish a source-chain failure from a missing destination credit or an unfinished Ethereum exit.

  • Pending source transaction: check inclusion and nonce replacement before retrying.
  • Failed source transaction: inspect the revert reason; do not treat approval as a deposit.
  • Successful deposit, absent credit: match recipient, token, and destination record.
  • Successful withdrawal initiation: follow the displayed proof, wait, or finalization step.

The practical rule is to act on the last confirmed state, not the label “stuck.” A deposit needs a matching Pacific credit; a withdrawal needs its remaining exit steps completed. That distinction keeps troubleshooting focused on the transaction that can actually move the funds forward.
